JCsportline is one of the leading Asian companies when it comes to custom and bespoke Carbon Fibre car parts and specialised performance parts.
TOM YU, born in 1982 in a small county in Liaoning Province, China, was deeply influenced by his father, a renowned automotive repair technician, fostering a strong interest in cars from a young age. During university, he specialized in automotive industrial design.
In 2005, after graduating, TOM relocated to Shenzhen, China’s most developed coastal city, with his girlfriend SANDY XIONG. He joined a company specializing in manufacturing automotive PU bumpers, the first of its kind in Shenzhen for automotive exterior modifications. Due to his honesty and humility, TOM quickly rose from a research and development engineer to R&D director, and within two years, entered the company’s strategic leadership. During this time, he conducted a series of experiments on automotive dynamics with like-minded individuals. The automotive modification industry in China was then primarily driven by economic incentives, resulting in overall poor quality. However, TOM accumulated extensive experience in industrial design and engineering.
In 2010, he embarked on the carbon fiber product line. After five years of research and testing, he developed a method using 3D data to create molds and a specialize.
With continuous technological refinement, in 2015, TOM invested in a new 60,000-square-meter factory in Hubei, relocating from a 5,000-square-meter facility in Dongguan. He trained a new generation of skilled workers, revolutionizing the industry’s traditional reliance on experienced artisans for production, shifting towards standardized assembly line processes to enhance productivity and enable mass production.
Amid the global pandemic in 2020, carbon fiber raw materials faced severe shortages. To ensure timely delivery of customer orders, TOM invested in a carbon fiber weaving factory and collaborated with Japan’s Toray Industries. After three years of arduous negotiation, a contract for Toray carbon fiber yarn was secured, ensuring stable raw material quality, underscoring the critical importance of raw materials and the commitment to fulfilling customer orders. Over more than a decade, TOM witnessed the rise of electric vehicles and collaborated with global automotive manufacturers on composite material applications, leading to advancements in processing and mass production technologies.
In 2022, he initiated an open platform for composite material development, successfully completing automotive lightweighting projects with leading Chinese electric vehicle companies such as BYD and Great Wall Motors. In 2023, he acquired four carbon fiber R&D teams and factories of varying technologies, aiming to address industry pain points related to mass production and quality consistency.
In 2024, TOM introduced AI technology into the JCSPORTLINE factory’s digital transformation, Composite component is widely used in various fields, including Automotive, Aircraft, Outdoor, Sporting, Household, and Medical Equipment, among others. As one of the largest carbon fiber manufacturers in Asia, we have a proficient and innovative and R&D team, along with robust project management.
By integrating AI technology into advanced digital factories, we set the standard in the carbon fiber industry, addressing industry pain points and ensuring on-time delivery and consistent quality, empowering clients’ project success.
