Yes. Carbon fiber's strength-to-weight ratio far exceeds EVA or polypropylene. Under normal use, a carbon fiber brace typically lasts 2–3 times longer — and ventilates better.

No. Our braces use a hard outer shell for impact absorption and a soft EVA foam inner lining for fit and cushioning. The end user never contacts the hard carbon directly. Comfort is higher than rigid plastic guards of equivalent protection.
